Welcome to my review, panic freaks! So gratified you could join me and read about the 6 eerie episodes of HBO’s “Tales from the Crypt,” the very ones that helped the series rise from its tomb befriend in 1989. It’s been 9 long years since the demonstrate went off the air, and until now, I’ve been waiting for the Crypt Keeper’s atrocious puns and abominable alliterations to be forever preserved on DVD format. And why not? The exhibit lasted a bulky 7 seasons and featured many of the biggest actors and directors in Hollywood. Each narrative carefully incorporates the homely unlit humor William M. Gaines EC comical books, which were almost banned in the 1950’s. Did I say ‘almost? ‘ Anyway, as other HBO programs like “Dream On,” “Deadwood,” and “Carnivale” were packaged and displayed on Best Recall shelves, I wondered if “Tales” would ever be among them. Well, the time has finally arrived, creeps! As stated by John Kassir himself, Warner Brothers wisely chose to obtain these discs so we ourselves can fear the next generation of kiddies to advance. Even better is the fact that the second disc of this Season 1 plot will absorb a sickening array of never-before-seen extras. I don’t want to give the surprises away, but I will briefly sigh you the stories you are about to explore. Enter, if you dare!

“Dig that Cat…He’s Loyal Gone” stars Joe Pantoliano as Ulric, a homeless alcoholic who becomes a rich and distinguished sideshow performer after a angry doctor (Gustav Vintas) surgically implants a cat’s gland into Ulric’s brain. This contrivance allows him to die and return to life nine times. Morbid hilarity ensues as a carnival barker (Robert Wuhl) presents Ulric the Undying to astounded audiences who inspect him come by electrocuted, hanged, drowned in a tank, and shot with an arrow (among other things) .

In “The Man Who was Death,” Bill Sadler (who eventually starred in the 1995 Tales from the Crypt film “Demon Knight”) plays Niles Talbot, a plot executioner who loses his job after spending 12 years pulling the switch. This resulted because the government unexpectantly repealed the death penalty. However, not wanting to abandon his accepted occupation, Niles drifts to the other side of the law by killing criminals who were acquitted by the courts.

The unpleasant and festive “And All Through the House” stars Mary Ellen Trainor as a devious housewife named Elizabeth, who brutally bludgeons her husband with a poker to procure on an insurance policy. Impartial when she is ready to eliminate the corpse, a homicidal maniac donning a Santa Claus costume (Larry Drake) terrorizes her with an axe. Even worse, Elizabeth can’t call the police for dismay of being convicted of first degree slay and losing custody of her daughter.

Vanity and greed play a central role in “Only Sin Deep,” a yarn about a street prostitute named Sylvia Vane (Lea Thompson) . After killing a pimp and stealing his gold jewelry, she willingly sells her beauty to a curious pawnbroker (Britt Leach) in exchange for $10,000 cash. At first, Sylvia wins over the affections of a suave playboy millionaire. But immediately afterward, as a result of some dusky magic performed by the pawnbroker, she gets increasingly distraught as her face expeditiously ages. Desperate to hold benefit her looks, she shoots her rich lover wearisome, but is then forced to avoid prison by staying shocking for life.

Prepare for a honeymoon hell in “Lover Advance Hack To Me.” Here, a cunning bachelor named Charles (Stephen Shellen) marries a naive Peggy (Amanda Plummer) for her inheritance money. On a rainy night, after accidentally getting stuck in an abandoned mansion, the two go up to the bedroom and perform perfect care for for the very first time. Originally, Charles was going to ruin Peggy and stage the crime to view like a burglary. But he soon discovers that her family history is cursed, and that considerable darker skeletons lie in the bride’s closet.

Last but not least is one of my celebrated episodes, “Collection Completed.” M. Emmet Walsh plays Jonas, a grouchy tool salesman who finally gets to retire after 47 years on the job. His slightly queer wife Anita (Audra Lindley) has developed a fondness for pets…alot of pets. In fact, she keeps a zoo-full of cats, dogs, and birds in the house. On top of that, she talks to squirrels and runs an aquarium in the bathtub. Obviously, such an attachment to animals is enough to drive Jonas up the wall! Inevitably, he gets sick and tired of not having enough attention, and he gleefully takes up taxidermy as a hobby. But those abominable animals weren’t the only living creatures that ended up getting stuffed.

OK, I was too young to remember EC comics before narrow-minded nitwits basically ran William Gaines out of business in the 1950’s (But he would open Indignant Magazine shortly after) but I loved the reprints that came out in the 80’s and 90’s and this TV explain was a welcome surprise. The reason this residence is only $18 or so is because the first season had only 6 episodes while season two would have 18 episodes. You open as the camera whizzes through the vexed house and down the stairs to the crypts where the EC mascot the Cryptkeeper pops up with his homely cackle, voiced magnificently by John kassir.

“The Man Who Was Death” is directed by Walter Hill and is about an Executioner who finds himself out of work when the death penalty is abolished and how he decides to sustain his work going.

“And all through the House” is directed by Robert Zemeckis is a horrific Christmas episode which finds Larry Drake playing a homicidal Santa stalking a woman who impartial killed her husband.

“Dig that Cat he’s True Gone” was directed by Richard Donner. It stars Joe Pantoliano as a bum who becomes the featured star of a sideshow when a furious doctor ala Boris Karloff, gives him a cat gland which allows him to die and arrive abet to life.

“Only Sin Deep” Directed by Howard Deutch. In one of those classic ironic twist stories of EC comics, a prostitute sells her beauty to a pawn shop but then finds herslef getting older and uglier vary mercurial.

“Lover advance Support to Me” Directed by Tom Holland. A man marries a woman (Amanda Plummer) for her money but soon finds himself in for more than he bargained for with her family.

“Collection Complete” directed by mary Lambert. A retired salesman is fed up with living with his wife’s house bulky of pets and takes up taxidermy to deal with the animals.

A solid first season with some of the expansive directors in film chipping in with their occupy efforts. The Richard Donner episode was a common due to its unlit humor and splendid performances. Mountainous to have these on DVD finally!

I stumbled across a few of Quino’s Mafalda comicstrips in my textbook, and I fell in admire with their charm, wit and subversive humor. Lo and discover, there’s a movie from 1981, collecting her involving adventures together in a loose tale a la The Peanuts TV series here in los Estados Unidos! The transfer’s a bit scratchy, but that finish only adds to the warm, veteran, low-fi feel of them film. It’s vivid, funny and charming, and the voices are perfecto! For those who don’t yet remark Spanish but want to follow along, sure English subtitles are provided. Very heartily recommended.

My wife from Colombia loves Mafalda, and I’ve read a lot of the strips with her, and I idea the video would be a exiguous more than a series of gags from the strips. There wasn’t really an underlying narrative. Smooth, it was cute to peep the characters reach to life.

Witness if you will the fourth (1968-1969) and final season of “The Wild Wild West”, unexcited produced by Bruce Lansbury and that continues his updated and rugged treatment of the series with the paranoid political tales: “The Night of the Doomsday Formula” (guest starring Kevin McCarthy as the fanatical General Kroll) and “The Night of the Pistoleros” showing a future nations’ conflict triggered by Mexican look-alikes of American military officers.

You will meet James West’s novel partners because Artemus Gordon is sent to Washington: secret agent/master of disguises Jeremy Pike (played by Charles Aidman) in four episodes (“The Night of the Camera”, “The Night of Miguelito’s Revenge” that is the last Dr. Loveless’ offering, “The Night of the Pelican”, “The Night of the Janus” that is Charles Aidman’s best performance as Baron Klaus Esterhauser and in which we accept a scrutinize of James West’s training academy), secret agent/master of disguises Frank Harper (played by William Schallert) in the two parter “The Night of the Winged Anxiety”, and chemist/agent Ned Brown (played by Alan Hale Jr) in the dim “The Night of the Sabatini Death”.

Moreover, we will again foray into the off-centered and the macabre fantasies as the Hammer Productions-like “The Night of the Sedgewick Curse” dealing with the theme of the fountain of youth, the tribute to the classic “The Phantom of the Opera” in “The Night of the Diva” (Robert Conrad even sings “Buffalo Gals” with his friends Richard Cangey and Red West) and a veiled reference to Conan Doyle’s “The Hound of the Baskervilles” in “The Night of the Bleak Island”, and two Jules Verne-oriented ones in “The Night of the Kraken” (which highlights a Captain Nemo type of character) and “The Night of the Winged Awe, Section I & II” (describing a secret organization of subversive furious scientists ruled by a hypercephalic mastermind) .

One episode, directed in leisurely season 3, depicts Robert Conrad’s tragic tumble while performing his stunt: “The Night of the Fugitives” (guest starring Simon Oakland) .

Well here we are, the final adventures of James T West and Artemus Gordon. Hard to occupy the series only ran 4 years. Growing up in Current York, the reruns ran aplenty during the 70s. Sadly though, series co-star Ross Martin didn’t rep to delight in the whole season as he was side lined by a heart attack. Replacing him was a young Charles Aidman as Jeremy Pike who was as obliging at his trade as Arte (you gain the impression he learned from the master himself) and others including Alan (the Skipper) Hale, John Dehner and William Schallert (Carson Drew, Nils Baris, Martin Lane) in a 2 portion episode. Their names got billed in the ending credits in the episodes they appeared in though Martin continued to appear in the opening credits for the remainder of the urge. Martin would recover to be able to do the sequel films made in 1979 and 1980, Wild Wild West Revisited and More Wild Wild West which according to http://www.tvshowsondvd.com will sadly not be included in this dwelling. Fortunately, they are shown often enough on Encore Westerns so you can copy them yourself uncut (the prerecorded VHS tapes I gain are copy protected) . Martin passed away soon after making the sequel films, but I am distinct if we looked up him up on the IMDB we would regain a lot of expedient stuff under his name including a villain on Wonder Woman in 1977, and an attempt to bring Charlie Chan befriend unprejudiced before or after More Wild Wild West. So glean this last season, and savor 4 years of one of the shortest yet favorite Western series of the 1960s.

Hi folks,

I admit it…I like this movie…I saw this at my local shop (dvd planet) and couldn’t resist… Directors Nick..6 more minutes! I got a sick feelingn when I build it in my player and the SAME menu as the previous edition came up… Turns out to be the same as previously released with a recent hide. If you have the previous release…do NOT catch this.

lets hope a Blu Ray edition with some proper bonus features will happen eventually. My 1 star rating is for this hopeless retread in packaging NOT the obliging movie!

I’ve been a long time Highlander fan, but with past DVDs I’ve always been disappointed with both the audio and video, got a PS3 and the audio problems went away, but the somewhat lackluster video was collected reveal. The Immortal Edition DVD I had unbiased seemed a puny noisy or grainy to come by any visual pleasure, even by Standard Definition means.

Then the 2009 Lionsgate came, whether this edition was remastered I’m not definite, though it does discover more visually lively to me, though I was a bit stupefied with the same Menu shroud from my previous DVD. The image is not as genuine as Lionsgate’s 2004 Highlander 2 DVD, but I’d recommend this one non the less. I so hope for all the Highlander movies to approach to Blu-Ray and search for and sound stout.

Some of my well-liked 60’s terror films prove up in this boxed place due out this plunge. William Castle always had a gimmick with his films. Sometimes these had him appearing onscreen himself such as in Mr. Sardonicus, and sometimes it interested theatre tricks such as wiring the seats to state a smooth shock during the Tingler or issuing life insurance policies during Macabre. Eight of the films Castle made for the then Columbia Pictures are included here.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The William Castle Film Collection! Click Here

Homicidal (1961), begins with a woman paying a hotel bellhop to marry her and murdering the justice of the peace who performs the ceremony. She sucessfully flees the scene. She also unprejudiced happens to work in a gigantic mysterious house where there seem to be a multitude of family secrets, dominated by the tedious owner’s obsession with obtaining a male heir.

Mr. Sardonicus (1961) is the epic of a 19th-century villager who obtained a fortune by retrieving a lottery note from the pocket of his humdrum father’s vest pocket. Predicament is, dad had been insensible for some time and the gawk of him troubled Sardonicus into having the same death grin himself. Now he’ll finish at nothing to retrieve his normal facial expression.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The William Castle Film Collection! Click Here

Zotz! (1962) – A mild-mannered college professor finds an feeble amulet that can manufacture people recede in boring motion, and when enemy spies learn about it, a hilarious slump ensues.

The Dilapidated Sunless House (1963), is Castle’s version of the J.B. Priestley modern. It follows an American car salesman to a spooky passe Welsh estate where the members of an eccentric family initiate to accept picked off one by one.

The Tingler has Vincent Note as a scientist looking for a live creature that he thinks is the basis for all scare and also has the power to frighten people to death.

13 Ghosts (1960) – Has a penniless man inheriting a mansion from his slack uncle. It turn out that it is inhabited by 12 ghosts which special glasses enable the family to peek. It also turns out that Uncle Cyrus left his fortune somewhere in the house.

13 Panicked Girls! (1963) – A bunch of priveleged teenagers at a boarding school intersect with a story of espionage. Humorous but fun stuff.

Strait-Jacket (1964) – Twenty years ago Lucy Harbin (Joan Crawford) found her husband with another woman and did them both in with an ax. After being locked up for twenty years she is now free and supposedly sane. However, unique occurances initiate that design it leer like Lucy has gone over the edge again. Joan gives a immense performance here. Well, let’s face it, she never gave a terrible one regardless of the movie itself.

Several of these films have been on DVD before, and when they were released several came with featurettes, so I’m hoping at least that remarkable gets carried over into the unique boxed situation. Specifically there were short featurettes on the recent Sardonicus, Homicidal, 13 Ghosts, Tingler, and Strait-Jacket.

Now if only whoever it was who owned the rights to the 1958 Castle film Macabre would screech a DVD release.

William Castle wasn’t simply a film maker. William Castle was a showman. So powerful so that going to the opening of one of his films was an event as opposed to going to a movie. Special stunts were what Castle was illustrious for and several of these films featured those. While audiences can’t enjoy the shows he set aside on in theaters these days, they can bag enjoyment in his films on DVD with the release of THE WILLIAM CASTLE FILM COLLECTION from Sony.

This collection may not include all of his films but it does include a number of his better pictures as well as several never before released to DVD. And those that have already been released are given a well deserved treatment here by including them in this collection. So what’s in it? Eight movies for young and aged.

First off is 13 Unnerved GIRLS. The accumulate here was Castle’s search for girls from around the world to report the members of an all girl boarding school who fetch eager in gawk shenanigans. Light on scares and titanic on chuckles, the film is a obscene dose of Castle.

13 GHOSTS tells the myth of down on his luck father who inherits a house from a rich uncle, only if he stays there. Too dreadful that this same uncle made a habit of collecting ghosts, 12 of which can be found there now. And the 13th? Contemplate to win out. The trick here was a residence of glasses with blue and red lenses, one to allow you to perceive the ghosts, the other to block them out.

HOMICIDAL was Castle’s retort to Hitchcock’s PSYCHO. The film opens with a brutal abolish of a justice of the peace by a young woman who returns home to care for an invalid woman. Hateful to her employer’s sister as well as the woman she watches over, what is the secret that is revealed only in the last minutes of the film? For those too worried to accept out we have the countdown clock that permitted patrons to leave the theater and retreat to the coward’s corner in the lobby.

STRAIGHT JACKET features an aging Joan Crawford as a woman sent to prison 20 years earlier for the axe execute of her husband and his lover. Now free, some odd goings on are affecting her life and those of the people around her. Has she gone insane?

THE Conventional Sad HOUSE is a remake of a classic Universal anxiety film, here played for laughs. Tom Posten is the flat mate of a man now deceased, invited to use the weekend at the family retreat. Too poor this family is far from normal and one after the other gets bumped off as the night progresses.

MR. SARDONICUS, my popular, tells the legend of a doctor who receives a heed from his ex-fiancé. Now married to a cruel landowner, she requests he near to her husband’s aide in a cure for what it the most horrid case of paralysis ever seen. If he succeeds, she is free to leave. If not? The face of Mr. Sardonicus gave me nightmares for years!

THE TINGLER features Vincent Notice in a role that gives him a chance to effect even some of the lamest dialogue sound Shakespearean. As a scientists who discovers that anxiety gives birth to a creature that literally squeezes your spine unless you release that alarm by screaming, Stamp is amazing. The astronomical gimmick here was in retract theaters that had distinct seats with vibrating mechanisms placed under chairs. At one point in the film, in a theater, the shroud goes sunless and Brand calls out that the Tingler is lose in the theater you are in! If you feel it you should sob, weep for your life! Of course this was when the mechanisms would buzz, scaring theater patrons.

Lastly is ZOTZ! again starring Tom Posten. This time around Posten is a language professor whose niece receives a medallion from her boyfriend on an archeological dig. An dilapidated language is found on the medallion and Posten deciphers it to eye that by pointing at someone he can cause internal distress, by saying zotz he can gain them proceed slowly and by doing the two together he can cause death! When the government doesn’t pay attention to him the Russians do and attempt a kidnapping.

Included in this collection are several episodes of Castle produced TV shows, leisurely the scenes featurettes on the movies and a stout documentary about Castle himself. The master showman took to appearing in most of his films and getting a kick out of the fans reactions to them all. Many fans have gone on to become star film directors in their enjoy honest.

This collection might be a bit pricy, but to catch each film on its believe would cost more. If you adore excellent used fashioned apprehension films, if you have fond memories of these titles, then you’ll want to add this boxed station to your collection. And what better time to give these movies a viewing than now at Halloween? Anyone up for a genuine apprehension?

Inning 9 1970 to 1994. Curt Flood loses his war against baseball but the players eventually accept. The players union gets stronger. The Reds arrive to power. The A’s fetch a couple world series. Roberto Clemente’s life slash short. Washington loses another team called the Senators.

The film also has some enormous commentary interspersed through out all of the DVD’s. At the raze of each DVD is a trivia game based on the decade that the DVD covered.

While the movie is based for the most section on Recent York teams this is truly a must for all baseball fans. There is no other collection of materials that covers baseball like this one does in terms of breadth and depth.

This position isn’t cheap, but it’s one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. Burns’ storytelling is always sharp, focusing on the evolution of not only the game of baseball, but in an indirect design, American history as well. It is particularly meaningful that he interviewed some baseball greats (Williams, Mantle, Buck O’Neil) before they passed on. My only complaint is that the series stops at 1994. (I would treasure to observe a coda/epilogue made covering the achievements and scandals of the last 13 years.) If you are a baseball fan, this is defintely worth having. Some nice special features too.

Perhaps that’s because it’s from Aardman Studios, well-known for “Wallace And Gromit” and “Chicken Accelerate.” Aardman is also well known for their claymation style of animation, which is lovingly preserved, albeit through the exercise of CGI in “Flushed Away.”

The myth revolves around Roddy (Hugh Jackman), a family pet who gets flushed into the sewers of London by an unwelcome guest named Sid (Shane Richie) . Sid takes over the world “up there” while Roddy is left to fight for his life in the seedy underbelly of London’s sewers. In all actuality, though, life in the sewers isn’t too terribly dreadful. When Roddy arrives there, he finds a arrive replica of London tubby of busy streets and shops. He decides that he must fetch home, and seeks out the assist of Rita (Kate Winslet), a female rat who’s known for shady dealings. On her tail (pun intended) are the goons of The Toad (Sir Ian McKellan), who says that a ruby he owned which fell from the crown of either Prince Charles or the Queen (I don’t remember which) was stolen by her and he wants it wait on. Of course Roddy thinks that by assisting him in finding the ruby, he’ll bag benefit in return to fetch aid home. What he gets instead is more effort when Rita steals something else from The Toad.

From there, the record becomes a beautiful decent action/comic memoir where The Toad’s cousin, Le Frog (Jean Reno) and his henchmen try to retrieve the item that Rita has stolen. It’s an integral section of a master opinion for revenge by The Toad on all of rodent-kind. Along the arrangement, Roddy and Rita become cessation friends and Roddy decides that he has to abet Rita and her family. It’s all tied nicely together in the ruin and is definitely fun to notice.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Flushed Away! Click Here

The thunder talents are extraordinary. Jackman, Winslet, McKellan and Reno all do fabulous jobs. Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum in “Lord of the Rings” and did a lot of the physical movements of Kong in Peter Jackson’s “King Kong,” plays one of The Toad’s henchmen along with Bill Nighy, fresh of the latest “Pirate’s of the Caribbean” flick.

The humor is, as expected, well grounded in British comedy and uses slapstick at will to enduce laughter from children. There are plenty of crotch injuries, one fart joke, and a few pokes at stereotypical Americans and the French. It’s all done with genuine intentions and there’s nothing really offensive here.

It will absorb the attention of both young and former, but children will probably savor it more than adults. I enjoyed it but I have a tendency to like comic children’s flicks like this. I’m also a fan of Aardman’s other work, so perhaps I’m a tiny biased. Rest assured that whenever it leaves the theaters and eventually hits the DVD rack, I’ll be one of the first to recall it for myself and my family.

The first two reviews sparkling well summed up this large movie! Laughable, swiftly paced and lots of in jokes, past film references, inspect gags from other Aardman films, a grand tale and was well executed!

I highly recommend this movie if you appreciate “Chicken Accelerate”, and “Wallace & Gromit”. If you have not seen any of Aardmans other shows/movies you will miss a few gawk gags, but that is certionly no reason not to study this! So in the end; This movie is a must sight and definitely fun for the whole family.

“Key Largo” is one of the spacious film dramas. It is truly refreshing, in this day of “in your face” violence and sex, to gape a film that builds tension almost entirely through dialog and characterization. This is one of Humphrey Bogart’s most underrated performances. Bogart plays a returning WWII former who has become somewhat jaded by his war experience. He comes to south Florida to visit the father (Lionel Barrymore-Mr. Potter in “It’s a Fabulous Life) of a boring war buddy, who owns a hotel and is living with his son’s widow, played by Lauren Bacall. Bacall, especially, is worthy in that she has very few speaking parts and communicates alarm and arouse primarily through looks, glances, and body movements. This is in inequity to her previous roles (“To Have and Have Not” and “The Tall Sleep”) in which was glamorous and sensual. In a method she is barely recognizable here. Edward G. Robinson is perfect as the timorous and easily manipulated gangster, Johnny Rocco. The entire film centers around Rocco and his cronies taking over the hotel and keeping the above characters hostage during a hurricane. The movie becomes a psychological cat and mouse game between Bogart and Robinson. At first, Bogart’s “head” tells him to see out for himself, but later he follows his “heart” in attempting to protect and free the hostages. Bogart is understated in communicating a man who is psychologically wounded by the war and who questions the very values he and others fought and died for. By the raze of the film he becomes a fearless figure, but not in the mundane or facile sense. He is plucky in that he sublimates his beget feelings of survival for that of the greater worthy and recognizes the need for one man to fight the imperfect represented by Rocco. This is directed by John Huston (“The Maltese Falcon”) and in spite of the fact that all the action takes dwelling in impartial a few rooms, his direction is dynamic and action packed.

Somewhat enigmatically, the text only “Leisurely the Scenes” Special Feature on the KEY LARGO dvd tells us that director John Huston was so aroused with producer Jerry Wald for forcing him to deal with the “delicacies” in Maxwell Anderson’s stage play of the same name that he barred him from the status. What’s more likely is that co-screenwriters Huston and Richard Brooks gutted Anderson’s play of most everything but the title, took a few veiled swipes at the House Un-American Committee, and threw an improbable cast at it.

Claire Trevor won the Best Supporting Oscar for her role as a boozy, worn nightclub singer, but Edgar G. Robinson steals the demonstrate. He’s simply amazing as Johnny Rocco, an musty gang lord (reportedly styled after real-life gangster Lucky Luciano) with satisfied dreams of returning to the venerable days – maybe they’ll reinstate prohibition! Lionel Barrymore plays a crusty frail hotel keeper, Lauren Bacall his daughter-in-law, and Humphrey Bogart is the ex-Army officer blown into town to shriek the widowed Bacall, and Barrymore, about her leisurely husband’s dauntless military career.

This was Bacall’s third movie with Bogart, and they seem to plunge in appreciate by osmosis this time around. Bogart plays the disillusioned vet with detached dignity, which works for the movie’s sake but robs the audience of the opportunity to ogle any high sparks ignite between his and Robinson’s character.

Ah well. We can’t have everything. This is level-headed a gigantic movie, one of Bogart’s most underrated gems.

I objective received this dependable DVD from Amazon. Although the package art now carries a 2007 date, the disc inside is the same as the 2001 release. It is NOT anamorphically enhanced. In fact, the files on the DVD are dated 2001, so it literally is the right DVD release in 2001 – the menu is the same as well. The only inequity is this comes in a retain case rather than a snapper case. Such a shame that WB won’t do better by this overlooked masterpiece.

I am an unabashed Kubrick fan. I was initiated into his work with “A Clockwork Orange” when I was 16 and went from there. Why is it that “Barry Lyndon” has in my mind surpassed other more revered works. You can cite the stunning technical attributes of the film(cinematography, art direction, costume fabricate, music), however, a technically proficient movie is not necessarily a curious experience. I would have to say that what elevates this movie is the screenplay and the acting. Kubrick does a broad job gripping the epic from Redmond Barry’s youth to his downfall among the English aristocracy. Kubrick has also gathered a titanic cast of actors here in supporting roles(Parick Magee, Leonard Rossiter, Marie Kean, Godfrey Quigley, Steven Berkof, etc.) . What cannot be overlooked is the performance of Ryan O’Neal. If some earn him wooden or off-putting should deem that he is essentially playing an unsympathetic rogue. It is a brave performance and O’Neal is utterly convincing whether playing a headstrong teenager or a icy manipulator. One gripe about the DVDs in the Kubrick Collection: with the exception of “The Colorful”, the only extras on these discs are trailers.

I’ve long waited for Thundercats to be released. Now the second season is on DVD. It’s like I remember from my youth. Then I found it wonderful and now too.

Awww man who does not adore the Thundercats. Taking you succor to the mid eighties, remembering being glued to the television every saturday morning, and later every morning before school for the re-runs. One of my well-liked childhood cartoons. The discs are well organized 5 episodes I possess to a disc. The only dilemma I have with this item is the tag, I do not understand why they have to split it uo in two sets for one season, and charge almost 100$ for the space. No matter The Thundercats are ample and I would pay whatever I had to to study this demonstrate again. It was a lot of fun watching my kids view it.
